There's been a trend lately of users claiming to be military or ex-military and most of know that about half of the ones who claim to be so aren't. An account upgrade would be an excellent way to fix this problem and work to IMVU Credit's advantage.
The first way is to sell it. Have the member fax or scan their military ID and send it to IMVU credit for verification, charge them say...$7.99, they get their badge, and we all know for a fact that they are indeed who and what they say they are.
The second way to do it, which I prefer to be honest, is to give it for free. Companies for years have offered fee waivers to service personnel, discounts for products and services, and other perks as a way of showing their patrotism and gratitude for their nation's warriors. It would work along the same lines. Simply have the member fax or scan their military ID, visually verify, grant them the badge. Everyone goes home happy. The service man or woman gets a little lagniappe and IMVU credit has customers and potential customers happy to do business with a company that can say thank you to the armed services.
This doesn't have to be exclusive to the US, though I can't suggest any further cause I'm really not familiar with how it's done in other countries.
Most importantly, it would certainly nip a problem in the bud, which is obnoxious bullies swaggering around claiming to be a Marine soldier, army, whatever. Military Verified talks, bs walks.
